Finix is a payment processor used by businesses, software platforms and marketplaces to accept payments, move funds and manage merchant activity. Existing users reach the customer dashboard through Finix’s verified dashboard.finixpayments.com service, while developers can create a separate sandbox account for testing. This independent guide is not operated by or affiliated with Finix.
Do not assume every Finix-branded screen leads to the same account. The Payments Dashboard, Payouts Dashboard, sandbox environment and a platform’s white-labeled seller dashboard can be separate destinations with different permissions.
What is Finix?
Finix provides payment infrastructure for direct merchants, software platforms and marketplaces. Its products cover online and in-person acceptance, merchant onboarding, settlements, business payouts, subscriptions, reporting and embedded payment experiences.
The company announced in May 2026 that it had become a direct payment processor with integrations to American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa. Finix also identifies itself as a registered processor of Pathward, N.A. and a registered payment facilitator of Fifth Third Bank, N.A.
It serves businesses rather than functioning as a consumer wallet or personal banking account.
That distinction clears up a common wrong-page moment. A customer who paid a store using Finix usually deals with the merchant for an order, refund or subscription question. Finix’s privacy policy states that merchants and software platforms remain responsible for their own consumer-facing privacy practices when Finix processes information on their behalf.
Where is the Finix login?
The verified customer-facing dashboard address identified in Finix’s Cookie Policy is dashboard.finixpayments.com. Users may also encounter a custom subdomain because Finix permits platforms to white-label seller dashboards with their own branding and domain.
Use the invitation or account link supplied by the business that created your access. Skip search advertisements and unrelated pages when you already have a verified dashboard address.
A new Finix account begins with a sandbox environment. After a live account has been enabled, the Dashboard can display an account-selection screen where the user chooses between the sandbox and live environment. The two environments do not represent the same transaction data.
Check that selection first.
A payment missing from the sandbox may exist in live mode, while a test transaction created in the sandbox will not appear in the live account. This is one of the easiest ways to spend time troubleshooting an account that is working normally.
Finix also maintains a dedicated Payouts Dashboard for businesses using its disbursement product. The documentation warns that this dashboard is separate from the standard Finix Payments Dashboard.
| Account type | Primary purpose |
|---|---|
| Payments Dashboard | Payments, merchants, settlements and disputes |
| Sandbox account | Testing an integration without live transactions |
| Seller dashboard | A merchant’s restricted view inside a platform |
| Payouts Dashboard | Recipients, funding, limits and outbound payouts |
Why can’t I find the expected account?
Finix supports role-based access. A team member’s role controls what that person can view or change inside the Dashboard, and seller users cannot access other merchants or platform-level settings.
That creates several ordinary frictions:
- The invitation was issued for a seller dashboard rather than the platform account.
- The user entered the sandbox instead of the live environment.
- The user’s role does not include the required feature.
- A platform uses a branded subdomain instead of the standard Finix address.
- The user needs the Payouts Dashboard, which is separate from Payments.
Prioritize the environment and account name shown after sign-in. Skip transaction troubleshooting until those two details match the account where the activity was created.
Finix began rolling out mandatory multi-factor authentication for Dashboard users, according to its release notes. An account may consequently require a second verification stage even when the initial login information is accepted.
Access arrangements vary by platform. A merchant invited through a software provider may need that provider’s administrator to restore or change permissions because the provider controls the seller team.
How do Finix payouts reach a bank account?
Finix groups processed payments into settlements. After a settlement is closed, reviewed and approved, a Funding Transfer sends the payout to the merchant bank account recorded during onboarding.
Finix processes standard payouts every business day. Its documentation lists card payout configurations of T+1 or T+2, meaning funds may become available one or two business days after processing, depending on the merchant’s setup. Weekends and bank holidays are excluded.
This does not mean every payment reaches the bank on the next calendar day.
Timing can be affected by the payment method, settlement configuration, risk review, returned bank transfer or account changes. Finix states that changing the payout bank account requires review by its risk team. Significant increases in processing volume, high dispute rates or elevated ACH-return rates may also affect settlement review.
Inside the Payments Dashboard, Finix documents the route Transactions > Payments for opening a payment and viewing its settlement details. The settlement view can show when a payout is expected, its amount and the transactions included in it.
For a failed merchant deposit, the Dashboard can display an ACH return reason. Finix says incorrect payout-bank information is a common cause, and a returned Funding Transfer may be resent after the merchant record has been updated.
Is Finix also used to send payouts?
Yes. Finix offers a separate disbursement product for sending funds to recipients through bank or card payouts. Its documented examples include gig-worker payments, insurance claims, loan disbursements, tips, rebates and accounts-payable transactions.
The Payouts Dashboard displays recipient records, account balance, payout history and configured limits. Its Home page can show daily card and ACH payout volume and count against the limits assigned to the account.
Do not confuse these outbound payouts with settlement deposits from customer sales. One product sends a merchant the proceeds of processed payments; the other lets an approved business initiate payments to recipients.
Finix also documents an Instant Payout feature for eligible settlements. Availability and pricing are configuration-dependent, so the existence of the feature does not mean every merchant can use it on every settlement.
How do Finix processing fees work?
Finix explains payment cost as a combination of interchange, card-network assessments and processor markup. Its May 2026 fee guide discusses interchange-plus, flat-rate, tiered and subscription pricing models rather than presenting one universal rate for every account.
Finix’s platform pricing page is sales-led and does not publish a complete standard fee schedule covering every platform, merchant category and feature. Subscription pricing is also feature-specific; Finix directs customers to their point of contact for subscription-product pricing.
The signed proposal matters most.
Platforms can create Merchant Fee Profiles and charge different rates according to card brand or payment method. Finix documents more than 60 configurable fee options for platforms monetizing merchant payments.
That flexibility means two merchants using Finix can receive materially different pricing. Industry, volume, average ticket, card-present share, disputes, ACH returns and platform markup may all affect the commercial arrangement.
Review the following before comparing a Finix quote:
- Processor markup
- Interchange and assessment treatment
- Per-transaction charges
- Monthly or platform charges
- Dispute and ACH-return fees
- Hardware or terminal costs
- Instant-payout pricing
- Platform-added merchant fees
A competitor’s advertised percentage is not comparable until the same components are included.
What happens after a chargeback?
Finix creates a Dispute record when a cardholder challenges a transaction. The disputed amount is debited from the merchant through a later settlement, and the Dashboard displays the network, reason code and response deadline.
Respond quickly.
The documented Dashboard workflow allows the merchant or platform to challenge the full or partial disputed amount, upload evidence and add an explanation for the issuing bank. Finix says the bank’s final response can take approximately two to three months. Timing varies by card network and case.
A disputed payment cannot then be handled as a normal refund. Finix documents a 409 conflict error when a user attempts to refund or reverse a transaction that already has a dispute, with the message that refunds and reversals are not allowed on disputed transactions.
Use the dispute workflow first. Skip the refund button once the chargeback exists.
Finix warns that excessive dispute ratios can lead to card-network monitoring and, ultimately, loss of processing access.
How does merchant onboarding work?
Software platforms can onboard sellers with Finix’s hosted Onboarding Forms or through the API. The hosted form collects seller consent, business details, owner information, expected processing information and the bank account used for payouts.
After submission, the Merchant account moves into PROVISIONING. It becomes APPROVED when the review is completed successfully. Finix may instead assign UPDATE_REQUESTED when more information is needed or REJECTED when the risk review does not support onboarding.
This is underwriting, not a basic website registration.
Finix uses automated and manual review, and the information required varies by business type and country. Its prohibited-business policy says some industries are unsupported while restricted industries require enhanced due diligence.
A platform can receive onboarding updates by dashboard notification, email or webhook. The notification settings are documented under Settings > User > Notification Settings.
How to contact Finix support
Finix’s documentation directs users to its support team by email for technical questions, API issues and payment problems. The support page says direct inbound telephone support is not offered; a user who needs a call can request one in the support message and provide suitable availability.
The company’s separate complaint policy uses another published support address and says a complaint will be acknowledged within five business days. Finix states that it will investigate and respond within 20 business days, including its result and information about escalation.
Support and complaints are not interchangeable. Use ordinary support for account or transaction troubleshooting. Use the formal complaint route for a documented unresolved service concern.
Finix’s sales page lists a sales telephone number, but that is not described as the technical-support line.
Finix FAQ
Is Finix a bank?
No. It is a payment processor.
Finix lists Pathward and Fifth Third Bank in its disclosed banking relationships, but the company itself provides payment-processing technology and related services.
What is the correct Finix dashboard?
Finix identifies dashboard.finixpayments.com as its customer-facing service. A platform may use a branded dashboard domain, and the separate Payouts Dashboard is used for disbursement activity.
Can I create a Finix account without coding?
A sandbox account can be created before an integration is built. Finix also provides Payment Links, a Virtual Terminal, hosted onboarding forms and other low-code or no-code tools, although live payment processing remains subject to onboarding and approval.
How fast does Finix pay merchants?
Standard settlement timing depends on configuration. Finix documents T+1 and T+2 card availability, calculated in business days, while ACH and risk-review conditions can produce different timing.
Why does my Finix payout show as failed?
A returned bank transfer can occur when the merchant payout account information is incorrect. The Dashboard can show the ACH return reason, and the transfer may be resent after the account information is updated and reviewed.
Can a disputed Finix payment be refunded?
No, not through the ordinary refund process. Once a dispute exists, Finix blocks refunds and reversals for that transaction, and the case must be handled through the dispute response process.
Does Finix publish one processing rate?
No universal rate applies to every account. Finix supports several pricing models and configurable merchant fee profiles, while some products require a direct pricing discussion.
The practical order is simple: verify which Dashboard and environment you are using, inspect the settlement or dispute record there, then contact the support channel tied to the account when the documented status does not explain the problem.
